Emily Ann Batchelder is a freelance graphic designer specializing in data visualization, branding and identity collateral, marketing campaigns, and publication and resource design for print and digital media. Emily is dedicated to supporting the work of progressive, socially responsible businesses and organizations and has seen firsthand the critical role that dynamic, effective communication and design play in shaping dialogue and creating substantive social change.
Originally from New Hampshire, Emily received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She now resides in New Orleans, Louisiana after living in Washington, DC for more than a decade. When she’s not dreaming up ways to solve her clients’ marketing dilemmas, Emily can be found hot glueing sequins, obsessing over her 30+ houseplants, and exploring the Crescent City with her Humane Rescue Alliance Pitbull mix, Parker (also affectionately known as “Porks” for reasons that are immediately obvious upon meeting him). Outside of her design, DIY- and dog-related endeavors (she also likes alliteration), Emily is an avid yogi – she received her yoga teaching certification in 2014 from the now-closed Buddha B Yoga Center in her beloved, former neighborhood, DC’s historic U Street Corridor. Porks and the plants (incidentally, not a band) oversee her day-to-day activities and otherwise live their best lives.
